Best Burgers in Taipei—Lins Burger: Burgers

My favorite thing about Lins burger is that they use New Zealand and Australian beef for their patties. New Zealand and Australia produces grass-fed beef, which are not only more fragrant and tender, but also healthier. Grass-fed beef contains more omega-3 fatty acids as opposed to grain-fed beef which mainly contains omega-6 fatty acids. Each beef patty is 7 ounces and handmade every day, it's the thickest and juiciest burger patty I've ever had.

I spent some time taking pictures of the food before I started eating, as per usual, so the burgers were a bit cold when we started eating. Sorry to all my food buddies. However, the burger patties did not dry out and remained extremely juicy. The fat in the burgers did not taste greasy or smell fowl like most patties do when cold, instead, it filled my mouth with the aroma of beef. These are definitely the best burgers in Taipei.

I had the Classic Cheeseburger. When I saw that the burger was covered in barbecue sauce I was initially put off, but when I actually tasted it, it was the most amazing combination ever! The barbecue sauce has a hint of sweetness, which went well with the savory patties. The lettuce and tomatoes in the burger were refreshing while the raw onions added a nice punch. The cheese melted perfectly on the patty unlike a lot of other burger places that serves their unmelted slice of cheddar like a piece of plastic.

It's also worth noting that I ate the entire burger with nothing left behind—including both sides of the buns, which very rarely happens! Since I try to cut back on carbs and don't usually enjoy burger buns, I always remove one side of the bun. But Lins Burger uses handmade milk bread as their buns. They were crispy on the surface but soft and airy on the inside. However, they weren't not soft and empty, it had a firm and nice chewy texture when I bit into it.

My friend ordered the Bacon Beef Cheeseburger. We particularly loved the bacon. They were soft bacon that are crispy on the edges and retains a nice bouncy texture from the finely distributed fat. The burger didn't just have a sad tiny lonely piece of bacon like most bacon burgers do. Instead it had huge slices of bacon layered on top. Coupled with the thick 7-ounce beef patty, every bite was a satisfying mouthful of protein.

My brother ordered the classic Peanut Butter Cheeseburger. The peanut butter at Lins Burger was lusciously thick and creamy, striking a perfect balance without being overly rich or heavy. A generous portion was evenly spread across the burger, resting atop the melting cheese, almost melding into one. What set it apart was the delightful crunchiness in the peanut butter, introducing a fascinating textural dimension. Paired with the crisp, fresh veggies within the burger, it formed an addictive combination.。

You can't have burgers without fries so we also had some Bolognese Cheese Fries. The sauce on the fries was very thick, unlike most fries with watery and wet meat sauce. The thick sauce was even creamier mixed with the cheese which made it a perfect combination with the fries, without turning the fries soggy. My friend liked the bolognese on the fries and the buns of the burgers so much, he said that he would gladly pay for a burger with just the buns and the meat sauce in between.

Our favorite side dish of the day was unanimously the Barbecue Whole Chicken Wings. These wings were prepared without the usual flour and batter coating, resulting in a texture that almost resembled air-frying. Despite my usual aversion to chicken skin, I found the skin on Lins Burger's wings to be delightfully crispy, steering clear of the typical greasiness. The meat itself was remarkably tender and succulent. Served alongside a wedge of lime, I enjoyed the wings as they were, while my friend preferred a drizzle of lime juice, adding a zesty and invigorating touch to the hearty flavors of the wings.

We also had a Smoked Salmon Salad with a fruity balsamic vinaigrette. The salmon slices were crafted into the form of delicate roses, with the edges gently torched to achieve a perfect balance—the center retaining a hint of rawness, while the outer edges displayed a delectable sear. The salmon was fresh, devoid of any undesirable fishiness, even around the skin.

What is life without dessert? Naturally, we could not miss out on some sweets. Don't forget to get a Chocolate Brownie while enjoying the best burgers in Taipei at Lins Burger! The brownies are served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Aside from the brownies I make myself, this is the only brownie I have had in Taiwan that tastes how brownies should. Most brownies are way too soft, fluffy, or crumbly, not at all how brownies should me. But these brownies were firm and silky, with some chocolate chips adding a satisfying crunch to the texture. The ice-cold mouthfeel of the vanilla ice cream perfectly balanced out the sweetness of the brownies. The chocolate was so rich I felt like my entire mouth was coated in chocolate heaven.

The lemon cheese cake was a bit like a Boston pie. It's very light and fluffy with the tanginess of lemons balancing out the richness of the cream and sweetness of the cake. It's different from what I was expecting but still a pleasant surprise.

My brother and my friend both went for milkshakes, vanilla and coco. The coco milkshake was good but I personally think that if you only have space for one, you can't miss out on the vanilla milkshake. It was rich and silky with a strong fragrance of cream and vanilla.

I had the Yuzu Sparkling Water which was an excellent choice. It tasted more like a refreshing and light soda. When it first arrived, I could see the carbonated bubbles jumping out from the glass, which was the cutest thing. It came with a slice of lemon on the edge of the glass. It's extremely thirst quenching and I think is the perfect beverage to wash down a hearty meal of delicious burgers.
