I have been seeing ads from Caxin Beauty Clinic a lot lately but I've never heard of it before. I saw that they now have a discount for new customers and I can try one session of intimate whitening laser treatment for NTD$999. It was so cheap that I had to give it a try. In conclusion, my experience was average, but I'm not sure how I could put it into words so I'll tell you my experience and I think you'd understand.

The location is extremely convenient, situated right at exit 3 of MRT ZhongXiao DunHua station. Next to H&M, there is an eye-catching billboard for lccnet (聯成電腦), Caixin is in the same building.

You have to remove your shoes once you enter the clinic and change into sanitized slippers. However, the floor is not particularly clean. I personally believe that if I have to take of my shoes to enter, the floor should be as clean as how it is in my home. My major issue is that they use a squatty potty in their restroom, so the floor is inevitably a bit wet and dirty. It doesn't feel very nice entering there with slippers.
Once you give them your reservation info, a consultant will take you into a small room where you have to sign some papers. This is standard or any cosmetic procedures. Then they would ask you to pay first, which isn't really an issue but this is the first beauty clinic that asks to pay upfront. Nothing's wrong, just thought it's a bit odd and worth mentioning so that you won't be taken by surprise if you decide to pay a visit. The prices listed in the ads and quoted by the consultant are only applicable if you pay cash. You can also chose to wire transfer the money to their Cathay bank account. Before I went, I asked on their Facebook fan page whether I can use a credit/debit card. I was told that I can, but additional charges will apply. But the consultant on the spot told me that they always take crash or wire transfers. Though she later mentions "special discounted price for paying cash", so I'm pretty confused on that matter. If you are planning on using a credit/debit card, you might want to ask for more details regarding how the price would be calculated.
Once you complete the payment, the consultant will take you to the door, where there are lockers with individual keys. You can place your belongings in there and the key will be with you until you leave. Afterward, she asked me to take a sit in the waiting area and told me that a beautician will take me to the beauty room. The couches in the back near the beauty room are massage chairs, but I didn't try them out. In a few minutes, the beautician showed up and took me to the beauty room. The equipment and layout looks a bit old and shabby, which doesn't really put me at ease because I don't get a professional vibe. This could be my personal opinion though, you can make up your own mind by looking at the picture below. When I sent this picture to my friend, she commented that it looked a bit like a make-shift tent. I don't really have a problem with this though, because as long as the equipment work properly, none of this would effect the results. Plus it's really cheap, I'm not really asking for much.

The beautician gave me a basket to place my panties in and did not leave. Naturally, I assumed that she's the beautician that will be giving me my laser treatment, so I removed my panties from under my dress in front of her and placed it in the basket. I placed the basket on the floor next to the bed, but the beautician told me to put it at the end of the bed, lay my head on the pillow placed in the center of the bed, and place my hips at the head of the bed. The reason I know that my butt is placed at the head of the bed is because I can feel a hole underneath which is where people usually place their face. Before the procedure, they did not have any wet wipes prepared for cleanup, and immediately asked me to lie down. Though I just showered before I left the house, it felt kind of weird. I thought it would be something like the salon that I do painless laser hair removal at, which is clean, allows me to change in private, and offers wet wipes for cleaning up before and after the procedure. I really have to write a post on that salon next time, I strongly recommend.
Once I lied down, the beautician asked me to pull up my dress, so I thought we were going to begin. But then she started getting stuff, moving the equipment, and walking in and out, then she finally told me that I would have to wait for a while. She has not only asked me to remove my panties and pull up my dress, but open my legs too at this point, so I just was just supposed to lie there awkwardly for 15 minutes. 15 minutes it not a long wait but it feels like an eternity in this compromising position in a foreign place. After 5 minutes, I got really uncomfortable and I sat up to take some Hungarian lessons on Duolingo to pass the time. The beautician walked in and out several times in between but never spoke to me, until finally, she told me that the doctor would be with me in a moment. Which is when I finally realized that she is not the one who was going to give me laser treatment.
A while later, I heard some sounds coming from the door, so I lied down and got into position, the doctor walked in and it was a man. I think I am a pretty open-minded person? But without asking whether it is okay or even informing me in advance still made me feel awkward. Plus, I am literally face to face with the doctor in that position. Unlike the gynecologist clinic, there is no towel on my lap blocking my view, my privates are in full and clear view to myself, and anyone that would be in the room. Just to paint the picture, my view is the doctor working on my privates and his face. So I quietly started scrolling through my phone, pretending that everything is fine, while I was actually telling my friend how weird this whole thing is.
I actually prefer female doctors when it comes to intimate hair removal and whitening because in my friends' and my experience, they pay more attention to detail. One of the reasons is that they know which areas need extra attention. The other thing is that male doctors would avoid touching patients with their hands as much as possible to avoid misunderstandings, which is understandable and great but that also leads to a lot of spots being missed. I think the doctor did try to be more attentive, he even treated the area where my butt meets the back of my thighs. But other than that, he did a cursory circle around my privates. Compared with what is done for my hair removal, this felt like not getting anything at all, and it was all done in less than a minute. Before I got up, the beautician said to hold on because she needs to apply ointment. Then she quickly drew a circle across my privates and left without a word. There was just a huge lump of white ointment left on the front of my privates where I didn't even receive laser treatment, she might as well have told me to apply it myself and I would have been totally fine with it. I spread it out myself and got dressed.
I wasn't really pissed during the entire process, I just felt lots of question marks floating above my head. If I were a comic the question marks would bust through my frame. It might be because I was distracted by worrying about other issues that day. But when I told my friends about what happened, they all said that they would have been mad. Because the beautician seriously has a terrible attitude and didn't inform me of anything that I needed to know. But I have to say that the consultant and the doctor were both really nice.

I haven't seen any improvement at all so far, but I think laser whitening is something that requires multiple treatments to see a difference. Overall, I don't think it would have been a bad experience but the beautician really made me extremely uncomfortable and dissatisfied. I'm not sure if it's her personal issue or if that' just how they do things.

I made no complaints about the above primarily because it's very cheap. After I finished, the consultant told me that I should get treatment once a month. After this. initial trial, each treatment would be NTD$2,000. If I prepay for 6 sessions, it would be NTD$9,000 in total, which translates to NTD$1,500 per treatment. I didn't say anything or make a deposit on the spot but I added their official LINE account, because I'm still very confused and not sure if I would return. 4 days later the consultant did message to remind me to take extra steps for moisturizing.
